Support equitable healthcare planning by analysing service use, access and inequalities, providing evidence to improve service design, decision-making and patient outcomes across local communities
A key risk is that healthcare service users may not fully represent the wider population. People who do not
access any healthcare services, face barriers to care, or seek care elsewhere may be underrepresented in
the data. This could lead to an incomplete understanding of population needs and potentially reinforce
existing inequalities if findings are interpreted without acknowledging these gaps.
To mitigate this risk, the project will explicitly examine both service users and groups who may be missing
from service utilisation data. Where possible, we will compare demopgraphic data to census data to
understand where the results differ.
